Larry Helmerich's boss. There's a great story about him hiring Larry:
Larry had been out in Los Angeles on a whim, and had interviewed with Brad pretty much again on a whim. Brad offered Larry a job, to start in a few weeks, so Larry went back home, arranged for moving vans, and moved out here, with just a few dollars left in his pocket...and when he showed up for work on the first day, they had never heard of him, and Brad was on vacation, incommunicado, for two weeks!
But they said that hiring Larry and not mentioning it to H.R. was something that Brad might do, so they told him to make himself at home and get started. I think they even advanced him some money from his paycheck.
Still made for an interesting first two weeks, though.

Dr. Manny Don and his co-worker, Mickey Waring. Researchers. They were universally liked, and always referred to as a collective, "Manny and Mickey." You could tell that they had worked together for quite a while, and that they would probably go on working together for a long time to come.
I don't think I even considered taking their pictures separately.

It was sort of good all-around general advice that I have thought of several times over the years, as I faced one daunting prospect or another.

Curt and I both almost remember the name of this girl, a friend of Nan's, and spunky. I don't think that she worked at Ear Research at all -- she was a friend of Nan's.
If she's the girl I'm thinking of, I went out on a date with her, but as Larry Helmerich says, in L.A., all the girls want to know what kind of car you're driving, and I was driving a 1967 Triumph TR6R Tiger motorcycle, which she expressed explicit alarm about. Still pretty spunky, though.
