Roll Call: H.R. 2206: Iraq War Funding

The votes are in, and enough spineless Democrats caved to continue funding the Iraq occupation.

My beloved Congressman, Brad Sherman, and my one good Senator, Barbara Boxer, voted against the stupid, toothless, moronic no-accountability compromise, as did the vast majority of Democrats in the House, I might add.

The Senate is another story, especially as led by the Capitulator-in-Chief, Harry Reid; we’ll have to vote out more of the spineless in 2008, apparently.

And, how did the upstarts mentioned in November’s Send Out The Clowns post acquit themselves? Grrr:

Voting Nay (against the stupid compromise):
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), replaced Lincoln Chafee (R-RI).
Senator Bernie Sanders (Independent Socialist-VT), defeated Richard Tarrant (R-VT).

Voting Yea:
Senator Sharrod Brown (D-OH), replaced Mike DeWine (R-OH).
Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), defeated Katherine Harris (R-FL, stole 2000 Presidential Election).
Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO), replaced James Talent (R-MO).
Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), replaced Vile Republican Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA).
Zack Space (D-PA), replaced The Ghost of Bob Ney (R-PA).
Tim Mahoney (D-FL), replaced The Ghost of Mark Foley (R-FL).
Nick Lampson (D-TX), replaced The Ghost of Tom DeLay (R-TX).
Chris Carney (D-PA), replaced Bob Sherwood (R-PA, the Pennsylvania Strangler).

How did your Congressman vote?
    House Roll Call
    Senate Roll Call

It’s still not too late to call them on the phone and lavish them with praise or hurl invective, by the way.

The proofreader in me leapt up and screamed: “not TWO mistakes from our pedantic friend, Tom Chappell!”

I calmed him down with some readings from the Pedantry Today blog (and some Valium), but the drugs will wear off soon so, please, see what you can do to get your house in order!
