From the last season of The Practice, which introduced Alan Shore and “Denny Crane”
(who continue to appear in Boston Legal):
Eugene [Speaking of an attorney who claims that God speaks to her, and that bald men can access her thoughts]: Did you hire her?
Alan: I don’t have the authority to hire her, Eugene.
Eugene: She’s here. Look at her!
Alan: Yes, I said, “Come practice law with us, on a temporary basis,” and..
Eugene: You’re temporary!
Jimmy [like Eugene, a partner in the firm]: …and she’s totally nuts!
Alan [he is temporary]: Thank you, Jimmy. I never figured you for the type who liked to weigh in.
Jimmy: What’s that supposed to mean?
Eugene: Undo this!
Jimmy: He just called me fat!
Alan [turns to address Jimmy]: First of all, I would never say that. Second of all, you are fat.
