I just did the Solvang Century this weekend (5h 57m in the saddle, 7h 10m wall-time), and my Garmin Edge 305 log totally concurs with your measurement of The Wall; 240 ft in about .6 miles. That's really not such a big deal; there's a longer, steeper climb on Mount Diablo, for example. Still, doing the Foxen Canyon Wall after riding 90 miles takes some effort ;-) I was just looking for mentions of the Foxen Canyon Wall, and found this.
